A banner designed for different screens
Use a 2560 × 1440 canvas for a YouTube channel banner. The complete canvas can appear on a television while narrower portions appear on other devices. Treat the outer area as background.
Get a better result
Keep identity and essential wording close to the center, and use YouTube’s device previews to check placement. A correctly sized file alone does not guarantee that a logo is visible on every screen.
A quick workflow
- Choose an original image with enough detail for your destination.
- Review the preset. Use Fit to retain the whole image or Fill to crop the edges.
- Pick the file format and quality, process, then compare the result before downloading.

For a deeper explanation, read how to resize without stretching or our JPG, PNG and WebP guide.
Presets are practical starting canvases, not promises of platform acceptance. Supported sizes, crops and upload limits can vary. Review the destination’s current guidance and upload preview.
