A wide header, thoughtfully framed

Make a 1500 × 500 header image with a 3:1 ratio. A header is shallow compared with a normal photograph, so a centered crop can accidentally remove your subject.

Get a better result

Move the crop vertically to choose the right strip of the original. Leave generous spacing around branding and account for the profile-photo overlap. Check the uploaded header on the destination platform.

A quick workflow

  1. Choose an original image with enough detail for your destination.
  2. Review the preset. Use Fit to retain the whole image or Fill to crop the edges.
  3. Pick the file format and quality, process, then compare the result before downloading.

Continue this workflow with Image resizer, Image cropper, Instagram post resizer. Browse the Resize tools to compare other options.

For a deeper explanation, read how to resize without stretching or our JPG, PNG and WebP guide.

Presets are practical starting canvases, not promises of platform acceptance. Supported sizes, crops and upload limits can vary. Review the destination’s current guidance and upload preview.

A FEW GOOD ANSWERS

Before you hit download.

Simple tools. Clear expectations.

How do I use the x / twitter header resizer?

Choose a supported still image, review the preset and select Fit or Fill. Adjust quality or the optional target size, then process and download the result. This page starts with a 1500 × 500 canvas.

Will my photos be uploaded?

No. The editor decodes and processes your image in your browser. Files are not sent to a processing server. Your hosting provider may log normal page requests; image contents are not part of those requests.

Will this reduce image quality?

Downsizing removes pixels and JPG or WebP compression can discard detail. PNG avoids lossy encoding, but cannot restore details already lost. Compare the original and result before keeping an export.

Can I process multiple images?

Yes. Add up to 12 still images, with a 20 MB per-file and 80 MB batch input limit. The same output canvas applies to the batch. Download individual results or a ZIP. For differently shaped originals, use Fit to retain every edge.
