A square that looks good in the feed
Create a 1080 × 1080 square for a consistent Instagram carousel or standalone post. The square is one useful format, not the only feed format. Portrait alternatives are available in the preset menu.
Get a better result
Use the same canvas for every image in a carousel. Keep small captions away from the edges, and inspect the final crop in the Instagram composer. Export photographs as JPG; graphics with fine type may look better as PNG.

- Choose an original image with enough detail for your destination.
- Review the preset. Use Fit to retain the whole image or Fill to crop the edges.
- Pick the file format and quality, process, then compare the result before downloading.
