Make an iPhone photo easier to share

A phone can save a perfectly good photograph as HEIC while an application form still asks for JPEG. Changing the filename does not change the encoding. This converter reads the HEIF container, decodes its picture and creates a new JPG from the pixels. The decoder runs locally; your photo is not sent to a conversion service.

Get a better result

Start at the original dimensions and inspect skin tones, fine hair and bright highlights. HEIC can carry HDR, depth and other information that a normal browser JPG does not retain. This is a still-photo export, not a Live Photo transfer. Keep the original if you might need those features later.

A quick workflow

  1. Select an actual .heic or .heif photo. The local decoder loads on first use.
  2. Check the decoded preview, then choose JPG quality and any required dimensions.
  3. Process and download the JPG; open it in the destination application before deleting any working copies.

When this tool helps

Useful for attaching iPhone photos to email, submitting a photo to a JPG-only form, or preparing an image for older desktop software. For a transparent or lossless raster intermediate, compare the PNG converter instead.

A FEW GOOD ANSWERS

Before you hit download.

Simple tools. Clear expectations.

Is the HEIC file uploaded for decoding?

No. A locally hosted WebAssembly decoder reads the selected file in your browser. Its library download contains program code, not your image.

Are Live Photos and multiple pictures retained?

No. The primary still image is exported. Video, depth maps, auxiliary images and original metadata are not copied.

Why does the first conversion take longer?

The browser downloads and initializes the HEIC decoder on demand. Large photographs also need memory; use a smaller batch on a phone.
