Treat a 20KB allowance as a tight constraint
Twenty kilobytes is a small budget for a photograph and may be unsuitable for a large document scan. This tool tries lower JPG or WebP quality levels up to your selected maximum, without silently shrinking dimensions. It tells you when the lowest tested quality still exceeds 20,000 bytes.
Get a better result
Remove irrelevant margins first and use only the pixels the form requires. Fine handwriting and identity details should stay readable. If the required dimensions and size limit conflict, check the receiving service’s guidance instead of submitting a severely degraded image.
A quick workflow
- Read both the form’s byte limit and minimum pixel size.
- Set useful dimensions, retain the 20KB target and process the image.
- Inspect lettering and facial detail; accept only an export that is both legible and within budget.
When this tool helps
Best suited to tiny profile images, simple marks or narrowly cropped signatures. A full-page document generally needs a different workflow or a less restrictive upload limit.
